Hi, I'm starting a "Scratch Club" at school. This is the program I used to create the "Attack of the Fruit Platters" and "Tennisball Pick Up" games. It is a visual computer language made for kids! MIT created it. (That's a great university.)
TIME:
TBA (Mondays 3pm - 4:30pm?)
LOCATION:
Computer Room 222
COST:
FREE!
WHAT:
Create your own computer games
- Learn to create your very own computer games, art, or just weird things if you want.
- Then post them onto MIT's Scratch site (for free) for the world to view and play with.
- Collaborate with others, "create, imagine and share".
- Learn problem solving and logic all while having fun.
Don't confuse this with the other people teaching Scratch on Wed. mornings. They are charging $90 or something and that is a City-sponsored club or something. My club will be after school and free.

From the Scratch web site: Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web.
Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills. As they create Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design. Scratch is available free of charge, go to Download.
